What Price Freedom?
(Words & Music by Keith Brown)

What price freedom from the heartache she gave?
Did you gamble your heart on a girl you can’t save?
What price freedom? Boy, you know you can’t win,
Because she’ll turn you around and send you back through again.
You’re feeling lonely, sad and blue,
Still, you hang in on her while she hangs out on you,
She’s a master of disguise,
Got you thinking that she is the prize.

What price freedom? Now she’s at it once more,
Sending heartache and tears knocking on your front door,
What price freedom? Like a spider, descends
And wraps you up in her web of deceptions, my friend.
You’re buying into all her lies,
While she’s playing her games praying you don’t get wise.
She’s sending you a love untrue
That’s she’s hoping that you don’t see through.

The hour’s late, you’ve sealed your fate, you’re blindly rolling the dice,
You’re playing with fire but her heart’s just as cold as ice.

What price freedom for the times you’ve been burned?
For the lessons she gave, lessons you’ve never learned?
What price freedom for a love she pretends?
Pull the wool from your eyes so your heart, it can mend.
You’re feeling lonely, sad and blue,
Still, you hang in on her while she hangs out on you,
She’s spinning out her web of lies,
And she’s praying that you’re hypnotized.
Boy, you better get wise,
Better take my advice,
Now, you better think twice.

Boy, you better get wiser, wiser,
You better get wiser, wiser.
