The Awakening
(Words & Music by Keith Brown - 07/02/84)

Morning on the horizon, lately the shining sun, it is near,
The future leads to the past now maybe, but my condition is clear,
A sleeping spirit awakens inside me, sleeping down through the years,
I yawn, I stretch, once again my eyes see that the awakening's here.

Voices out of the past come thundering, ringing out to my ears,
Ghostly eyes from the darkness pleading those old familiar fears,
Songs of life from before now call me, they whisper out on the wind,
The magic there in the music, I see of visions which I must tend.

The artist wakes from a man now set free,
Fork in the road is at hand now maybe,
A stranger in the old lands now lately,
And though he can't see where it leads to,
There lies the overwhelming need to
Pick up the pieces and see his dream through.

Morning on the horizon, lately the shining sun, it is near,
The future leads to the past now maybe, but my condition is clear,
A sleeping spirit awakens inside me, sleeping down through the years,
I yawn, I stretch, once again my eyes see that the awakening's here.

The artist wakes from a man now set free,
Fork in the road is at hand now maybe,
A stranger in the old lands now lately,
And though he can't see where it leads to,
There lies the overwhelming need to
Pick up the pieces and see his dream through.

Have you seen? Have you heard?
Spread the word that the awakening’s here.
