Realization

(Music & Lyrics by Keith Brown)

Walkin’ down the line wondering where my life will be in time,

Took all my life to get this far and I’ve been playing up to par

In this thing we call life.

People I have met, some were good and some were bad, and yet

Took all this time to realize that they were viewed through different eyes

Than what I now possess.

Where will I be tomorrow, Lord? Where is my head today?

What will I think tomorrow now about what I do and say?

New avenues yet unexplored, now at my feet they lay,

The changes I discard or keep determining my way.

Lord, I’m just a man who’s trying to do the best he can in life,

And though I’ve made a few mistakes,

They move behind in silent traces through the passing of time,

And as I move along, many changes come, many have gone,

Leaving me not so naïve, with so much more to learn and see

As I live out my life.

Too many people these days take for granted this thing life,

They let the days stand up on end and never question why,

They live their lives for things they can’t take with them when they die,

And make a God of the dollar bill when their God should be their life.

Walkin’ down the line wondering where my life will be in time,

Took all my life to get this far and I’ve been playing up to par

In this thing we call life.

People I have met, some were good and some were bad and yet

Took all this time to realize that they were viewed through different eyes

Than what I now possess.
