Twentieth Century Minstrel
(Words & Music by Keith Brown)

I am a 20th century minstrel, I bring you these songs as my life,
Song of laughter and happiness, pain, despair,
Song of love, song of life, song of maidens fair,
All these things I have seen…

Yes, and I am a 20th century minstrel who follows a far distant drum,
Now here is life through the eyes of a minstrel man
Who’s reaching out to you now trying to join all hands
Through all the people I’ve been in my life…

Song of laughter and happiness, pain, despair,
Song of love, song of life, song of maidens fair,
All these things I have seen…

Yes and I am a 20th century minstrel, won’t you please sit back for tonight?
And I’ll sing now of places so far away,
Song of blue sky and soft lights, songs for today,
This guitar, my companion along the way
Down the roads I may wander in life…

Song of man, song of life, song of laughter and strife,
Song of blue sky above, song of deep flowing love,
Song of happy or sad, song of good, song of bad,
Song of false, song of true,
Song of me and my love, song of you,
Of other times when all our cares were few,
Back to the days of our youth,
When our wild-like but childlike innocence was still shining through..
